Happy Thanksgiving! Whether you are in US celebrating Thanksgiving this week, or if you are reading this in another country, I want to say I am THANKFUL for you. I appreciate your being a part of the SimplyHealed™ community!

Earlier this month we had a fun-filled week with my daughter's wedding. I'm grateful that she found a man with whom she has such a loving relationship. They are so good together! The 3-day traditional Indian/Hindu wedding was held right here in the gorgeous back drop of Southern Utah. I've included some photos for you...

Other than my daughter, the bride, no one in our family had ever attended a Hindu wedding before, so this was a brand new experience for us. But guess what? We were open to it, we stepped into the experience, and we loved every minute of it!And I especially loved the "blingy" sari I got to wear!

How many new and amazing experiences pass you by because you are too fearful, or hesitant, or cautious to allow them space in your life? This month's article will give you an idea where you stand with that - "Are You Too Cautious?"

And then to help you move past anything standing in your way of doing new things, join me in December for my next Group Phone Session (and new topic!) - "Fear Busting".

Warmly,

Upcoming Events

Simply Healed™ Group Phone Session

Topic: Fear Busting

Dec 10th - 12pm PT / 1pm MT / 2pm CT / 3pm ET

Fear is common to all of us, and can wear many different masks.

Sometimes it shows itself as judgment or jealously, shame, blame, anxiety, worry, stress, guilt, or anger.

Most often when we drill down to the root of a problem there is an element of fear.

Fear of what others think of us, fear of not being good enough, fear of being alone, the list goes on and on.

If you want to get a handle on your fears (and who doesn't?) please join me where we will shine a light on those fears and call them out! During this call we will release past fears so they are no longer a trigger in the present, release false beliefs and stories that are currently creating fears, build up faith in our abilities to succeed despite the occasional fear.

Featured Article: Are You Too Cautious?

Helen Keller, blind and deaf educator, said:

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

Sometimes it’s wise to be cautious, particularly when physical safety is at stake.

However, when we play it safe simply to protect our ego or heart, we may close off possibilities that could bring us greater joy and fulfillment. Life is what we make of it, shaped by our choices.

What are you choosing? Answer “true” or “false” to the following statements to discover if you are too cautious.

Set 1

  • Life doesn’t feel safe. I’m content with things as they are and prefer to stay in my “comfort zone.”

  • I’m afraid something bad will happen if I veer off my usual course. I feel safer and more confident when I stick to what I already know.

  • I frequently worry “what if…?” If I can’t be certain of the outcome, I won’t take the risk. Being rejected, looking stupid and failing are not options.

  • I know there are business and romantic opportunities I’ve missed out on because of being so risk-averse.

  • My fear of the unknown is paralyzing. When I look at my life, I have many regrets about things I didn’t do.

  • I feel bad about myself for being so cautious. I think of myself as a coward and I expect that others see me that way, too.

Set 2

  • I am committed to growing myself bigger than my fears. It’s not that I’m unafraid; it’s just that I am more committed to my goals and know the cost of playing it safe.

  • Developing courage is like building a muscle. The more I practice taking risks, even small ones, the more empowered I feel.

  • When I have a goal or dream that feels big and scary, I minimize feeling overwhelmed by “chunking it down” into more manageable, short-term steps.

  • I enlist the support of those who can help me move beyond my comfort zone to a more fulfilling life.

  • When I take risks, I trust I can handle whatever comes. If I fall, I know that I can get up again. I don’t conclude that I shouldn’t have tried or that I’m a failure.

  • My biggest successes have come when I’ve taken a big leap of faith.

If you answered True more often in Set 1 and False more often in Set 2, it sounds like you are ready to move beyond your comfort zone to live a more fulfilled life.

A great place to start is with my "Fear Busting" group call coming up in Dec. It will help eliminate the underlying reasons why you hold yourself back in many situations, so you can step into your courageous self and create a life that rocks!

Carolyn Recommends: Ellen Britt's Pink Coattails Podcast

I recently had the honor of being one of the business women interviewed by the amazing Dr. Ellen Britt on her ongoing Pink Coattails broadcast.

Ellen specializes in teaching savvy women entrepreneurs how to take their knowledge and expertise and transform it into Genuine Influence.

But this series is not all about business. Ellen is fabulous at creating interesting conversations by including questions about morning rituals, favorite books, recipes, etc. It is powerful, yet practical and easy to implement information. I have personally LOVED listening and learning from the other women on her podcasts!

And...

If you are not familiar with the iTunes environment, it can be confusing to try to figure out how to subscribe, review a podcast, so...

Ellen has written an article and made a short tutorial video showing you exactly what to do here: http://www.pinkcoattails.com/review
