Happy April! (and sorry I'm late getting this out this month!)

I hope this finds you well and happy no matter what season it is in your part of the world. Here in the US  I am loving springtime!  The birds are singing and the flowers are blooming and I have been enjoying the fabulous bicycling weather!  

After winter my yard looks dull and lifeless, but within the past few weeks, my plants are turning green again, and I even noticed little pink flowers on my ice plants today. In my work as an energy practitioner and teacher I get to see people's lives, relationships, and health come back to life, similar to what the plants do in the springtime. Spring represents a time of transformation, new growth, and hope. Are you ready to "spring" into action in your own life? What areas would you like some fresh, new growth in? Write it down, outline a plan of action. Don't worry that you don't know the entire plan, you only need the very next step you need to take. And after that, you'll know what the following next step is.

We all know that healthy food, proper exercise and adequate sleep are all essential for a fit body. But, do you realize the physical body is a metaphor for what is going on inside of us?

The weight is simply how the physical body manifests the root issue.  There are many different issues for many different people.

You can diet and exercise to lose all the weight you want, but if the negative core beliefs are still there it's very hard to maintain that weight loss.

On this Group Energy session we will be clearing the reasons why, on a subconscious level, people feel it is not "safe" or they are "not worthy" to lose weight and be lean and healthy.  We will release old, negative inner tapes and we will "plug in" new, positive affirmations that support you on this journey, to help make weight loss a fun and empowering time for you instead of a struggle!

Featured Article: Body Image—It’s Not What You See, but How You Feel

 “A woman’s relationship with her body is the most important relationship she’ll ever have,” says health and fitness expert Diana K. Roesch. How sad that often it is not a loving relationship, but rather a relationship that causes insecurity, fear, self-doubt, shame, guilt, low self-esteem, and all too often, self-hatred. It is reported that in the U.S., at least 5–10 million girls and women and 1 million boys and men are struggling with eating disorders—anorexia nervosa, bulimia, or compulsive overeating. Too many people starve, diet, purge, binge and exercise to the point of creating serious health problems.

Most people are at least dissatisfied and at worst even hate some parts of their bodies. This is especially true for women, but men have body image issues, too. The odds of finding a person who doesn’t have at least some body image issues are slim.

How to turn the self-loathing into self-loving?  It begins with small, positive steps.

Here are just a few:

• Find at least one thing you like about your body. Write it down. Tomorrow, find another.

• Practice good posture, hold your head high, straighten your shoulders.

 • Tell your body how much you appreciate its wondrous abilities.

 • Get rid of all the clothes that you don’t like or that make you uncomfortable.

 • Challenge the media’s definition of beauty.

 • Nourish your body with a healthy diet, regular meals, lots of water.

 • Slow down and remember to breathe.

 • Move your body; not just exercise, but play, dance, skip, stretch, roll down a grassy hill.

 • Pamper yourself with comfortable clothes, soothing beauty rituals.

 • Post signs telling yourself how beautiful you are, inside and out.

 • Tell your friends how beautiful they are, inside and out.

The way to a positive self-image begins with a conscious choice to make peace with, have gratitude for, and love your body.

I love this slim volume of food wisdom. I think you will too!

This easy-read teaches that eating doesn't have to be so complicated, because when you eat real food you don't need rules. It shows us how food is as much about pleasure and communion as it is about nutrition and health.
