Happy Spring! I know it may not be in many parts of the world, but here in Southern Utah it is and I LOVE IT! I love riding my bike through the neighborhood and enjoying the newness that comes with Spring. Ahhh! Deep breath!

I want to give a Big Welcome to all of our new subscribers! Our little SimplyHealed™ family is growing and I'm so glad to have you join us!

 

I taught a SimplyHealed™ Refresher class in Sydney, Australia, last week and I was able to have my family join me. Here's a family picture with my husband, Dean, and two of our kids. We even had time to do some sight seeing...There we are at a koala park. Too bad all the koalas are sleepy from eating those eucalyptus leaves. You can barely see them in the background.

This month's topic is on Self-worth.

This is one of my most popular topics for the group calls (see below) and rightly so. Self-worth seems to be one of the main roots to many issues that we each deal with on a daily basis. Fix self-worth and we fix so many other things almost without realizing it.

Part of self-worth is learning to show ourselves a little more self-love. That's why I chose "Top 10 Things to Say to Yourself" as this month's article. If we can learn to treat ourselves with kindness and respect, we will find that our self-worth begins to make positive shifts and we become happier (and I believe healthier too).

And don't miss my recommends! Jen Louden is such a fun person and she has written a great book called "The Women's Comfort Book" (Sorry to the guys!). I've enjoyed reading it and I think you will too.

Last but not least, here's a picture of the Australia SimplyHealed™ Refresher class from last week. What a great class of practitioners - amazing people! I also had two speaking engagements while in Sydney with even more great people! I love the warmth of the Aussies! It is exciting and humbling for me to watch the SimplyHealed™ Method spread there.

Top Ten Things to Say to Yourself

Often the things we say to ourselves we wouldn't even think of saying to another person.

We blame, shame, call names of the meanest sort, nag, belittle and bully ourselves through self-talk. What if, instead, we were gentler with ourselves, asked ourselves questions and listened to the responses.

What if we treated ourselves as we treat a best friend, someone we love dearly?

Here's a Top Ten list of loving things to say to yourself:

1. What do you feel? Asking ourselves what we feel can help put names to, and identify emotions. Listening for the response and being honest with ourselves is like taking our emotional temperature.

2. What do you need? A need is different from a want. Whereas a want states a desire, a need is usually a statement about nurturing. Pay attention to your needs, they're about caring for yourself.

3. Good job! Congratulate yourself on a job well done whether it's mowing the lawn, writing a poem or cleaning the bathroom. Give yourself a verbal pat on the back.
