Happy New Year!

Well, It’s mid-January so you have probably already thought about your goals and intentions for this year. I hope you have written them down. Taking time to write them out really helps anchor in the vibration of what you want to achieve.

I love the fresh energy of a new year, but goals can and should be set anytime you have the desire, or what I like to call a little ‘spiritual nudge’ to begin something new. Be sure to read this month’s article below for more about that.

Featured Article: Resolutions Anytime

It’s mid-January, are you tired of reading articles about New Year’s Resolutions? Well, read on, this one has a little different take on it.

The start of a new year offers a great opportunity to re-new our intentions and get on track for the coming twelve months. I don’t know about you, but this is always a fun thing for me. I enjoying putting pen to paper and letting my mind explore what I want to accomplish next on my journey. Oh sure, sometimes it’s a little frustrating to realize that some of the goals I’m writing are the same ones I’ve written for many years. But that’s okay, there are things that we continually work on throughout our lives. And, of course it is fun to check things off the list from last year that have been completed.

I’m not sure about you, but a once a year goal-review is not quite enough for me. I love sitting down every few months to review those goals and intentions; take stock of what I’ve accomplished and where I am headed.

But the fact is, we have 365 days each year to make choices, change direction if needed, or just find our way back to the path we may have veered from.

I know it seems easier to start a diet on a Monday, or an exercise program at the first of a new month, or write fresh resolutions at the beginning of a new year. I’m all for goal setting, plugging into your intentions for where you want to go, making a vision board about it, meditating on it, seeing it in your mind, feeling it in your body, smelling it, tasting it, touching it. Those are all necessary steps to success. What I’m saying is…

we have the freedom to begin again at any day, any time.

Every day is a new beginning. We don’t have to wait until Monday, or the first of the month, or the beginning of a new year! We can change, edit, or totally re-write our dreams and ambitions anytime we want to. You get to own your own power. That is yours alone to own. Live by that, not by the calendar. Wow, that’s exciting!

Goal setting is the foundation to progression and is applicable at ALL times. We shouldn’t only associate it with New Year’s Resolutions but with our overall life desires for this coming year and beyond!

    Carolyn Recommends: Food Rules

    I love this book! Its premise is that eating doesn’t have to be so complicated, and food is as much about pleasure and communion as it is about nutrition and health.

    A fun and easy read, this creatively illustrated book includes ‘rules’ such as:

    Place a bouquet of flowers on the table and everything will taste twice as good; If you’re not hungry enough to eat an apple, you’re probably not hungry; and Find time for what matters- cooking for yourself matters.
