Carolyn's Comments

Wow, this new year is buzzing right along. Can you believe we are into the third month of 2009 already? Spring is just around the corner. I’ve even seen blossoms on several trees this week! Last week I traveled to Idaho Falls to speak at the Healthy Living Idaho expo. It was a lot of fun and I thank all of you who attended my classes. However, it was a bit colder up there, they even had icicles; beautiful icicles!

I will have more details about upcoming events on my blog. Yes, I finally have a blog! Keep reading…later on in this newsletter you’ll get a link to it.

Upcoming Calyco Healing Trainings

As of last month, there are now 25 more Calyco Healers in the world-yay! But I still have a long way to go to reach my dream of “a facilitator in every family”.

If you’ve felt the nudge to get trained in CH, please consider joining us for an upcoming class:

St. George, Ut Calyco Healing Level 1 Wed/Thurs. May 27, 28
St. George, Ut Calyco Healing Level 2 Fri/Sat. May 29, 30

You may attend both in the same week, or spread it out by only attending Level 1 now, and Level 2 at a later date.

For more info, tuition and registration go here.

And for all those of you who have asked, yes…I will also be doing a class in Salt Lake City this summer. I am waiting to hear back on a few other things, but as soon as I get it on my calendar I will send out an email to let you know the date.

We keep hearing so much negative about the economy, but let’s stay out of the fear and simply be prepared. Calyco Healing gives me the skills to help me and my family be self-sufficient. If I have sick child, an injury in the family, any kind of emotional upset, (all of which we’ve had this week), I have tools to take care of those things in an easy, effective, and positive way. I cannot even begin to tell you the time, money, and stress that Calyco Healing has saved me over the years-well, even this week! It is such a natural part of my life, and I hear the same thing time and time again from CH graduates. It is a wonderful tool, but don’t just take my word for it…here are some emails from some February class participants:

"I wanted to tell you some wonderful blessings since class:

  • The family did wonderfully while I was gone, not one problem. A great blessing!
  • My husbands and my relationship was great before I left, it's been like a honeymoon since I got home. Awesome!
  • All my pants are loose & I'm having challenges keeping the rings on my fingers.
  • I have discontinued all of my supplements, including Armor thyroid and feel better than I have felt in decades...I did say decades. (living in the NW with arthritis)
  • I'm doing Tai Chi or treadmill everyday, except Sunday, HAPPILY!
  • I had been struggling with walking pneumonia since October and couldn't seen to get the last of the wheezing to go away. I returned home to Washington without it.
  • I also had torn my left rotator cuff at Christmas time and was still babying it when I flew into Utah and came home completely healed!

These are amazing side benefits from taking the Level 1 & 2. Thank you for everything!!!"
Kristine Farley, WA

"I am using the Calyco program every chance I get, and making sure I am as balanced as I can be, and without trying to, I have lost weight. I'm not doing anything different than I've ever done...in fact I've probably been eating more and exercising less, lately...and yet, since New Years I've lost 15 pounds that I've been trying to lose for the last year & half. The only thing I've done differently is my visit to you last month, and the Calyco training & practice. This is really cool!! Also, the vision in my left eye is getting less grainy, and my psoriasis has cleared a lot without using the Rx I usually have to use. Wow! I really like this."
Judi Williams, UT

I hope to see you at an upcoming workshop!

Featured Article - Gratitude for Freedom

Gratitude is a very potent energy with an extremely high vibration. That is why we always feel better when we count our blessings and give thanks. One of the top things on my gratitude list is living in a free country. On one of my trips to Washington DC, I purchased a mug that says “Freedom is not free”. I love that mug! Each time I use it, it reminds me of all the people who have paid their lives for my freedom. I have many ancestors who fought and sacrificed so that I can have the luxury of living and raising my children in a free country. I have friends and neighbors who are now serving in the military. I do not take this gift lightly. I am very honored and humbled by their courage and commitment.

This may seem like an article to be shared around the 4th of July when everyone is celebrating America’s birthday, but patriotism is something to be grateful for each and every day. And in light of the fact that last month we celebrated President’s Day and Martin Luther King Day, I think this is a great time to talk about being grateful for our freedom.

Before I go on, I must tell you that I honestly don’t want this article to sound like an advertisement, but I want to share something with you because it really touched me, it goes right along with things that I’ve been thinking about lately (hmm...law of attraction), and think you will be interested to read about it too, because it’s just such a heart-warming story.

I recently met Jennifer Frink when she attended my Calyco Healing course. She is the founder and CEO of “Freedom Inspired”. I am so impressed by the fact that being grateful just wasn’t enough for her. She really wanted to take action, so she started a t-shirt company that donates 100% of their net-profits to the Armed Services YMCA, a military-based charity that was founded during the civil war. It offers over 150 incredible programs of support to the families of those who are currently serving in the military (she donates ALL the profits!).

These are her words:
How do we show our patriotism? Is it simply hanging a flag on our front porch? Patriotism is, by definition,"love for or devotion to one's country." I believe that being patriotic is our duty as citizens of this country. I love this incredible nation and feel so extremely grateful for those who have fought for the initial stances taken to gain and secure our independence, to those who span the globe presently to preserve our safety today. I received the inspiration for Freedom Inspired after a family member shared with a touching experience they witnessed at a homecoming of some servicemen and women.

Jennifer went on to share this story with me:
Her brother-in-law, Chris is a loadmaster in the Air Force. Each time that troops come back from overseas they ask for volunteers to come help unload the plane. One night Chris volunteered, and as he was working a little boy came up to him and asked him to sign his poster, which he gladly did and went right back to work. Shortly thereafter, the plane had come in and when the returning troops exited the aircraft the servicemen and women who were volunteering turned to salute. When Chris turned he saw the little boy holding the poster he had signed which read, "Thank you, I enjoyed my freedom today."

Chris's story and Jennifer's passion is what sparked Freedom Inspired. Her company makes shirts that are designed and dedicated to all those who have served and are currently serving our nation. They are a great way to show our gratitude for the sacrifices made on our behalf. Personally, I have some of these shirts and not only do I love the fit and the softness, but I really feel like I am wearing my heart on my sleeve when I have them on (I am, the logo for some are on the sleeves). And by the way, I cannot tell that story to anyone without crying! You can learn more about Freedom Inspired, the story behind the shirt, and the Armed Services YMCA at www.freedominspired.com.

I love Jennifer’s example of doing something tangible to show your gratitude. What can you do this week to show your gratitude to someone who has helped you?

Carolyn Recommends: My new blogs!

This month I highly recommend checking out my new blogs! Yes, that’s right, plural! Two new blogs:

www.CalycoHealing.blogspot.com is a place for my short ponderings and a place where I can get feedback from you, and answer
often-asked questions. There is even a 6 minute video clip of me teaching a class that you can watch. I’m telling a personal story about how cellular memories in my DNA caused a panic attack, and through knowing how to release that from my energy system I was able to overcome it. This is called ancestral or generational healing and I teach these easy techniques in my Calyco Healing courses.

www.CalycoHealthyChallenge.blogspot.com, contains a list of everyday things we can do to help keep our minds and bodies healthy.
Points are accumulated for all the healthy practices we follow through on during the day, so it helps keep us accountable and gives us a reference point for staying on track. Ok, I admit some of these like “no sweets” are going to be much harder for me than others like, “be in gratitude”. But hey, I’m going to take one day at a time and just have fun with it. I’m up for the Challenge; c’mon, join me!!
