Chakra Healing Part 2

In part one of Chakra Energy Healing I described what the chakras are. Now let’s talk about how to assess whether or not your chakras are working optimally. This list is certainly not meant to diagnose any physical problems; we are just checking the energetic vibrations of these energy centers.

Here are some things to pay attention to:

1. Unidentifiable fatigue is generally a good indicator that your chakras may have some congested energy in and around them. Just like when your computer slows down when it needs to be defragmented.

2. If you or a friend is familiar with muscle testing, you can always ask your body to see which chakras are strong and which ones are weak. Muscle testing (or kinesiology) is a great way to check to see if you need some chakra energy healing.

3. If you are aware of a specific issue that you have, you may be able to track which chakra that correlates to. Example, having trouble forgiving yourself or someone else — those type of emotions are usually housed in the heart chakra.

4. Some people feel physical pain in the area of a specific chakra. That’s because the chakras bathe the organs in their energies and when that energy is not radiating where it needs to, it will have an actual, physical effect on the surrounding tissues and organs. For example, if you are experiencing digestive problems or perhaps lower back aches, both of those could be telling you that something is not right in your 2nd chakra because that is the area where it resides. Or it could be an indication that the chakra has been deficient for a long time and now it’s a bigger problem.

Try these tips to help re-balance your chakras:

There are many guided meditation CDs on the market that can help align the chakras. I especially like the “Chakra Balancing” kit by Anodea Judith.

Yoga is a great way to keep your chakra system vibrant. The postures (asanas) help release stress, aches and pains, and unwanted stagnant energy.

Lie comfortably on your back and take one hand a few inches away from your body. Start at your root chakra (base of the spine area) and as you breathe deeply, visualize the color for that specific chakra. (Colors are listed in Part 1 of this article.) Your intention should be to release any low vibrations from the area and at the same time, with intention, you are strengthening that chakra with the color in your mind.

Oftentimes it is enough to simply acknowledge and validate what the disturbance in the chakra energy is for the negative energy to dissipate and the chakra to re-align itself.

I encourage you to learn more about chakra energy healing by reading some good books on the subject; there are many on the market. Imbalances will show up from time to time which is just part of being human, but as you gain a deeper awareness of your own chakra system you will be able to discern when something is ‘off’ and gracefully bring it back into balance.
